For My Rebecca: Day 9

Once in awhile you have a moment that causes your lifes actions to flash. Sometimes you have to change. Have you ever had an experience that caused you to review your actions?

  1. If you mean in the sense of life-flashing-before-your-eyes, then I surprisingly haven't really had any of those experiences.
But in the sense of reviewing my actions, sometimes I'll think about something and just beat myself up over it a million times. There's still some things that happened freshman or sophomore year with people I looked up to and I think, that was so stupid. Why did I say or do that? They're always the little things, never big mistakes that hurt anybody. But with a mistake you can usually try to figure out how to un-do it, or at least mend things a little.

But in regards to having those moments where you really just think about your life, I'd say I usually experience the opposite effect...instead of thinking about all the things in the past, I really focus on the future. Whenever I have those big life-changing moments I think, this is waht I want to do, this is where I want to go, I have to make this happen.

I know it's so typical I should quote a Duo, but the Duo of Fight Club puts it so perfectly: "If you died right now, how would you feel about your life? What will you wish you had done before you died? Open your eyes."

What's that old saying, about you can't change the past because it's like something written in ink on can only make a mess trying to cross it out, but you can always start anew with a new sheet? Something like that. Something I'm really realizing these past couple of days is how important it is to not put things off. Know what you want. Make it a goal and not a dream. Decide what's really and truly important to you in life and don't let anyone else stand in your way. Make the choice, stand firm and and never stop fighting for it. You don't know when the day will come when you won't be able to fight for it anymore.

I know I sound like a tired motivational speaker x) But I guess school and stuff today and really thinking lately has gotten me perusing a lot.

On a final note, God obviously has something in mind for you, or you wouldn't be alive today. Find out what it is and live for it.
